In popular media, happiness and a sense of inner calm are increasingly characterized as human virtues. This perspective ignores the tremendous sacrifices some people have to make to achieve success in their lives. There is perhaps no beauty without grit, and no success without failure. Presenting from a mix of qualitative and quantitative evidence, I aim to advance this narrative to help people leave with a more compassionate view of their own mental and physical health. To see the human potential we all carry within ourselves. Because, we all benefit when we live life authentically, and “fail efficiently” in our day-to-day routines.
