Online Therapy (Alberta)

Meaningful. Thoughtful. Supportive.

Covered by Health Spending Accounts (HSA’s)

Meet Adam, Clinical Nurse Therapist.

He offers an affordable yet meaningful approach to therapy which helps people re-discover their sense of joy, happiness and well-being. Together with you, he’ll build a solid foundation for success with evidence-based therapies (like ACT, CBT and behavioural activation), gently exploring where you feel stuck and what you hope to accomplish.

A quick hello from Adam, our Clinical Nurse Therapist supporting the Online Therapy program.

Many patients notice meaningful shifts within just a few sessions. Throughout this process, Adam’s role is much like a co-pilot: noticing patterns, tuning into what’s working, and making minor adjustments to help navigate towards a place that feels more stable and aligned with important values.

What to Expect

At your first session, Adam will complete a comprehensive 38-point assessment to understand key factors affecting your well-being. From there we will co-create an action plan that feels realistic and supportive.

Our therapeutic process unfolds step-by-step over time:

Visit 1 – Assessment: Exploring important interactions between health, emotions, behaviour, events and environment.
Visit 2 – Action planning: Identifying intrinsically meaningful goals and beginning “the work” of therapy.
Visits 3 to 5 – Biopsychosocial care: Incorporating proven therapies (ACT, CBT and behavioural activation) to build transformative change.

This process-oriented assess, plan and treat approach allows most people to feel a sense of progress within 3 to 5 visits.

If You’re Unsure About Therapy

It’s completely normal to feel some hesitation around therapy. This likely means you are considering the benefits of working with a therapist and whether they are the best fit for your concern. You might be searching for the best therapist or even a specific emotion to start therapy.

Before you decide, it may help to imagine the shift you hope for:

  • Feeling calmer and more connected?
  • Making peace with past experiences?
  • Building relaxation or healthy routines?
  • Feeling better supported or understood?

A complimentary 15-minute conversation is available to give you a sense of our process before moving forward.

A Trauma-informed, Whole-Person Approach

Great therapy does not help people forget the past, but rather helps them re-define their relationship to past events. We work to build a healthy sense of detachment from stressful emotions while remaining in contact with the present moment. Research shows this builds trauma resilience, strengthening a complex skill called psychological flexibility.

Our trauma-informed approach also considers the full picture of your psychological well-being, including sleep, nutrition, exercise, and other lifestyle factors. This biopsychosocial model of care is a great fit with trauma-informed therapy.

Together, we work hard to rebuild:

  • A sense of belonging and purpose
  • Positive health changes and performance
  • Calm, comfort, and resilience
After Your First Visit

Online therapy sessions can focus on rebuilding self-confidence or increasing flexibility in how you respond to life’s challenges. With a supportive process, many people re-discover their untapped power and potential.

If you prefer to continue this work on your own, you’re also welcome to request a personalized recovery plan which includes practical strategies to optimize overall well-being. This plan would identify things that can be completed on your own time, between therapy sessions. Recovery plans often include a combination of psychological, nutrition, exercise, and other lifestyle advice.

Specialized Option: Immersive Online Therapy

Immersive therapy may not be the right fit for everyone. We ensure technologies are integrated thoughtfully into care, aligned with a person’s overarching goals for therapy.

However, for some people, immersive therapies create powerful moments for healing. A guided visual exercise might evoke feelings of safety and calm, helping people to picture what it’s like to live in an environment where one feels secure and supported. These visualizations may also create space for new sensations and perceptions, allowing people to re-imagine and construct new ways of being. When used intentionally, immersive experiences deepen the impact of talk therapy. They set the stage for more meaningful conversations, grounding people in the present while also inviting them to experience different ways of knowing.

Feel free to ask if immersive therapy is right for you!
